Georges St. Pierre (No. 1 WW, No. 2 PFP) vs. Josh Koscheck (No. 5 WW) - Koscheck is the last guy to win a round against St. Pierre and I believe out of all the welterweights he has the best chance to win. If Kos can keep it standing he could land one of those big windmills he likes to throw and catch St. Pierre but I'm pretty sure this will look a lot like the St.Pierre/Alves fight and hopefully GSP comes out looking to hurt and finish Koscheck. I'm not a huge huge fan of St. Pierre but I do love watching great fighters fight and he is a specimen, but I also would be quite entertained if Koscheck KO'd him in Montreal. My pick, GSP by a dominant 5 round decision.
Thiago Alves (No. 3 WW) vs. John Howard - Howard is just not on the level of Alves. Thiago Alves is gonna pretty much beat up on any welterweight not named George St.Pierre or Jon Fitch. I would be super surprised if this is an upset. Alves by TKO, rd. 1.
Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira - this is gonna be a really solid close match. Both guys have solid Jiu Jitsu, decent striking, and both are tough dudes. Miller is always gonna be a solid match up but I don't really see him getting into the title picture, while the Brazilian has a more dynamic game and a ton of potential. This is a 'Fight of the Night' contender and it smells of split decision. I'm leaning Oliviera by decision.
Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig - Danzig might just get his walking papers after this one. He's not super popular and the most memorable thing he's done is get a bad stoppage in his first fight with Matt Wiman. I think Stevenson will be too much and he'll run game all over Danzig and maybe even bust him open with an elbow. Stevenson by TKO, rd. 2.
Stefan Struve vs. Sean McCorkle - I don't know much about McCorkle other than he talks a lot of trash on MMA forums. These are 2 big dudes. I'll take Struve by submission, rd. 2.
Dan Miller vs. Joe Doerksen - Dan Miller is the better fighter here. Doerksen isn't really UFC quality anymore. The style match up here should make it a close fight with Miller getting the advantage. Miller by decision.
Ricardo Almeida vs. T.J. Grant - I think Grant is a sleeper in this one. Almeida is very inconsistent while T.J. Is always a game opponent. I'm taking the upset here, Grant by decision.
Dustin Hazelett vs. Mark Bocek - Bocek has the better all around game here but Hazelet is just gonna be much much bigger making his lightweight debut. Its eventually gonna hit the mat and Hazelet brings a better arsenal of submissions. I don't know that McLovin can finish Bocek but I think he can Jits his way to a controlling decision maybe locking up a body triangle with his long limbs. Hazelett by decision.
Matt Riddle vs. Sean Pierson - Riddle by TKO.
Jesse Bongfeldt vs. Rafael Natal - let's go Bongfeldt by sub.
John Makdessi vs. Pat Audinwood - not super familiar with either guy, so I'll take Pat 'Awesomely Awesome' Audinwood since he has an awesome nickname.
