Comics - Nobody & Robot Dreams

I recently read some comics ( or Graphic Novels, if you're one of those people that thinks comics are for kids.)

I picked up Jeff Lemire's most recent offering, 'the Nobody' from Vertigo/DC .

It's pretty GREAT. The Nobody follows the H.G. Wells inspired, John Griffen, who comes to the small town of Large Mouth covered head to toe in bandages, & gets the local folk talking.

If you are a fan of Jeff Lemire's other works you will most definitely enjoy this. The Nobody doesn't stir up the emotion that Lemire's Essex County & Lost Dogs did, but rest assured it is evident from this graphic novel that Jeff is constantly evolving & improving as an artist & storyteller. Go check out 'the Nobody'.

I also read the not so recently released Robot Dreams, by SaraVaron, published by First Second publishing.

Robot Dreams is a silent story that follows the adventures of a dog & his robot pal, who he abandons at the beach and tries very hard to replace him. This book is GREAT and fun to read. You should definitely check it out.
